EndPointScan online utility released by GFI

Are you aware of all the devices – USB sticks, CDs, floppies, smartphones, MP3 players, handhelds, iPods, digital cameras – that have been connected to your network? As an administrator, do you know how many employees have been using or are using portable storage devices at the moment? Monitoring your network for these devices is not only time-consuming but nearly impossible to do manually.

EndPointScan is a very handy online web utility (works only with IE) that checks for devices connected to your network (or systems). You should be administrator to run it.

EndPointScan performs a scan (you should accept an ActiveX from GFI) to do so. A good HTML report indicates devices and related threats.
A whitepaper exposes the risks and threats posed by devices and uncontrolled medias on network.

EndPointScan can detect these devices :

  • Floppy disks
  • CDs and DVD ROMs
  • iPods
  • Storage devices
  • Printers
  • PDAs
  • Network adapters
  • Modems
  • Imaging devices
  • And more

Requirements for the test :

  • Windows 2000, XP or 2003 as operating system. Not Windows 9X or NT!
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later with Internet security settings set to Medium. Please note that this version of EndPointScan does not work with Mozilla FireFox.
  • Administrator rights and privileges to set Internet security settings and execute EndPointScan.
