When French Reporters deal with hacking at the BlackHat
3 men identified as french reporters for Global Security Mag has been expelled from the Black Hat 2008. The Facts are here : they stole credentials and passwords from eWeek and news.com editors.
Using basic sniffing techniques with Cain and Abel software, the so-called reporter known as Mauro Israel has accessed illegaly to data and sensitive informations of the CNET editor.
The truth is neither of Mauro Israel and Jouniot (the other so-called reporter) are real reporters. But they are just sponsorized by the magazine to make noise and some public relationship. But playing the kiddies in the hacker land can lead to some mishaps and shame. And that what’s happened. They got caught when they wanted to submit the "snooped" data to Wall of Sheep’s responsible.
The chief reporter from Global Security Mag (Marc Brami) has already covered the BlackHat more than three times. But this year, the awful thing happened.
As from our perspective, this is an unethical and ashamed behavior since Mauro Israel was the security officer of the french company "NET2S Cyber Networks". Getting into systems is not a matter of joke as he said in response to his attack.
What would say customers with whom he work ??
What would say attendees when he spent hours talking about "security policies" and other "good practices" ?
Who can trust him now ?
We really think that Mauro Israel signed earlier the end of his security career but entered the Wall of Sheep for the centuries to come.
All in all, Global Security Mag could be banned for years from all security conferences.
