Detail

Revision Note: V2.1 (September 3, 2008): Corrected security update entries for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 to include -v2 in the file package names. This is a correction to the package names only, customers who have successfully updated their systems do not need to reinstall this update.Summary: This critical security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in the VBScript and JScript scripting engines in Windows. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights.
