Vulnerability Note VU#330289Logitech VideoCall multiple ActiveX controls contain stack buffer overflowsOverviewLogitech VideoCall ActiveX controls contain multiple stack buffer overflows, which could allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system.I. DescriptionLogitech VideoCall is video conferencing software for Windows. Logitech VideoCall includes multiple ActiveX controls that contain multiple stack buffer overflows, including the following:
II. ImpactBy convincing a user to view a specially crafted HTML document (e.g., a web page or an HTML email message or attachment), an attacker may be able to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user. The attacker could also cause Internet Explorer (or the program using the WebBrowser control) to crash.III. SolutionWe are currently unaware of a practical solution to this problem. Please consider the following workarounds

36820 | Logitech VideoCall WebCamXMP ActiveX (wcamxmp.dll) Start() Method Overflow A buffer overflow exists in VideoCall. The WebCamXMP ActiveX control fails to validate data passed to the Start() method resulting in a stack overflow. With a specially crafted website, a context-dependent attacker can cause arbitrary code execution resulting in a loss of integrity. |
