romload.c in DGen Emulator 1.23 and earlier allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on temporary files during decompression of (1) gzip or (2) bzip ROM files.

8300 DGen Symlink Arbitrary File Creation

DGen contains a flaw that may allow a malicious user to gain access to unauthorized privileges. The issue is triggered when temporary files are insecurely created during ROM decompression, allowing a malicious user to create a symbolic link from a temporary file to an arbitrary file. This flaw may lead to a loss of integrity.
