rexecd for AIX 4.3.3 does not properly use a local copy of the pwd structure when calling getpwnam, which may cause the structure to be overwritten by the authenticate function and assign privileges to the wrong user.

IBM AIX contains a flaw in the rexecd daemon that may allow a malicious user to gain access to unauthorized privileges. The issue is triggered when calling getpwnam because authenticate() may result in pwd structure being overwritten. This flaw may lead to a loss of confidentiality and/or integrity.
