When user-defined ARP Policer is configured and applied on one or more Aggregated Ethernet (AE) interface units, a Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition vulnerability between the Device Control Daemon (DCD) and firewall process (dfwd) daemons of Juniper Networks Junos OS allows an attacker to bypass the user-defined ARP Policer. In this particular case the User ARP policer is replaced with default ARP policer. To review the desired ARP Policers and actual state one can run the command "show interfaces <> extensive" and review the output. See further details below. 10 2020-04-08 CVE-2020-1614

A Use of Hard-coded Credentials vulnerability exists in the NFX250 Series for the vSRX Virtual Network Function (VNF) instance, which allows an attacker to take control of the vSRX VNF instance if they have the ability to access an administrative service (e.g. SSH) on the VNF, either locally, or through the network. This issue only affects the NFX250 Series vSRX VNF. No other products or platforms are affected. This issue is only applicable to environments where the vSRX VNF root password has not been configured. This issue affects the Juniper Networks NFX250 Network Services Platform vSRX VNF instance on versions prior to 19.2R1.

7.5 2019-04-10 CVE-2019-0031

Specific IPv6 DHCP packets received by the jdhcpd daemon will cause a memory resource consumption issue to occur on a Junos OS device using the jdhcpd daemon configured to respond to IPv6 requests. Once started, memory consumption will eventually impact any IPv4 or IPv6 request serviced by the jdhcpd daemon, thus creating a Denial of Service (DoS) condition to clients requesting and not receiving IP addresses. Additionally, some clients which were previously holding IPv6 addresses will not have their IPv6 Identity Association (IA) address and network tables agreed upon by the jdhcpd daemon after the failover event occurs, which leads to more than one interface, and multiple IP addresses, being denied on the client. A sustained sequence of different types of normal transit traffic can trigger a high CPU consumption denial of service condition in the Junos OS register and schedule software interrupt handler subsystem when a specific command is issued to the device. This affects one or more threads and conversely one or more running processes running on the system. Once this occurs, the high CPU event(s) affects either or both the forwarding and control plane. As a result of this condition the device can become inaccessible in either or both the control and forwarding plane and stops forwarding traffic until the device is rebooted. When the 'bgp-error-tolerance' feature â€" designed to help mitigate remote session resets from malformed path attributes â€" is enabled, a BGP UPDATE containing a specifically crafted set of transitive attributes can cause the RPD routing process to crash and restart. A vulnerability in the pluggable authentication module (PAM) of Juniper Networks Junos OS may allow an unauthenticated network based attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code or crash daemons such as telnetd or sshd that make use of PAM. Affected Juniper Networks Junos OS releases are: 14.1 from 14.1R5 prior to 14.1R8-S4, 14.1R9; 14.1X53 prior to 14.1X53-D50 on EX and QFX series; 14.2 from 14.2R3 prior to 14.2R7-S8, 14.2R8; No other Junos OS releases are affected by this issue. No other Juniper Networks products are affected by this issue.
